Why Barack Obama is My Social Network Idol
This probably seems like old news now. Well, it is old news and I'm writing about it. Barack Obama is the president of the United States of America; the buzz is in the air and I'm still amazed at how his campaign used media in social networks to capture the passion of our country to bring the young vote back. The Obama campaign created a direct channel to the people of America through online networks, banner advertisements and his own website. All the while leveraging the traditional campaign tactics to promote this new strategy. This campaign redefined the landscape for future presidential campaigns, BRAVO!
**NOTE** - This is the epitome of how online media campaigns should be leveraged. (Purely my opinion)
Another aspect of this campaign and now presidency that is a pleasant change from the same ol' - same ol' is the usage of online venues created and structured specifically for aggregating feed back from everyday Americans. The Whitehouse got a refresh and Recovery.gov was built in order to educate all of us "Joe Plumber's" on what to expect from our government. Now; these things may not change the success rates of the policies put in place by this administration; however, the ability for an average citizen to sent their thoughts directly to the administration running this country real time is great.
So, to conclude my Obama online soapbox announcements. I'd like to say, well done, all of you who architected this campaign and had the foresight to understand the value of "Americans Online".
